mmmmm...

mmmmm...

So, this week I have been eating carrot cake which, in my opinion is easily the best cake although finding a good one is a little hard. Anyway, after much searching I’m pretty sure I have found the nicest carrot cake EVER!!! A slight exaggeration perhaps, but it’s definately the nicest so far and Surprisingly it’s just Morrison’s own brand …and not even from the swanky ‘best’ range! It was so good it actually made my eyes twitch with pleasure, you know, a bit like when you get your hair washed at the hairdressers.

So that’s my opinion on carrot cake - If you think you can reccommend a better one get in touch and I’ll put it to the test.

By the way, I don’t work for Morrison’s although if anyone from Morrision’s would like to give me free carrot cake because of this post I won’t say no!

Favicons

Ok, maybe this should be the real point of this post but lets face it, I doubt anyone is reading this anyway! So, a favicon is the little square ‘favourites icon’ that appears next to your URL in Internet browsers and when you bookmark something. I have just designed the new one for Rat Pasty so thought I would give a quick explanation of how to make your own…

Design big and keep it simple, then shrink it down

Design big and keep it simple, then shrink it down

  • Using something like Photoshop, create a new document 64 pixels x 64 pixels (this is big enough to create your design)
  • Keep it simple as when you’re finished you will need to  shrink it down
  • Once finished reduce the document to 16 x16
  • Save the file calling it ‘favicon.ico’ and saving it as an .ico file (to save in this format you need to download the following plugin from Telegraphics)
  • Upload your ‘favicon.ico’ file to the root folder of your website

That is how to create your own basic favicon. You can find a great tutorial which is more in depth and also explains about multi resolution favicons over at photoshopsupport.com

Favicon Generators

If you want a much easier, simpler way to create your own favicon you can use one of the many generators out there such as favicon.co.uk
