Wall piece take 2…
Just before Christmas I had another go at the wall in Hale. I did one of my first attempts at a wall piece there a few years back and whilst I was happy with it then I’ve been wanting to re do it for a while now. Anyway, this is the result. I had a little nudge in direction from Hale, and it obviously had to work in the space but aside from that I could do what I wanted – I’m pretty chuffed with the overall result and I’m loving working with this technique…

Evolve: New works for Papergirl Newcastle
I submitted these pieces of work for the upcoming Papergirl Newcastle event, an awesome idea that has finally made it’s way up North thanks to Carlos Rosati who is taking on the Newcastle division. The idea is that artist’s donate work which is then rolled up and distributed to the unsuspecting public by a group of people on bikes, much like American style paperboys. Check out the site to get a full grasp of the concept and to see how you can get involved but know this, it’s gonna be good.
The drew these with fine liner. I didn’t have time to figure out a way to turn them into a print run plus I like the fact strangers can get their hands on original art work whether they want to or not. So, if you are in Newcastle on the 27th August you might get your mitts on these. Whether you want to or not.
Fast and loose

Slow and err, tight?

You can see one of these pieces hanging in the exhibition now until the distribution date along with loads of REALLY GOOD work from loads of other artists.

It really is a brilliant concept that has such a nice ethos and vibe about it. There are still ways you can help by way of time, check out this link for more info
More walls!
I was back at Rocking Horse the other week to draw as part of Clive Aid, a music, DJ and art event thing – it was fun and I drew this. My timings are getting better, I would have liked to have added some detail in the black background but stopped myself from going back to it… I must learn!

Other artists involved were Morning Skyrail, Paul X. Johnson and Brucey (above in that order). Find their links in the Blogroll to the right.
Another wall drawing…
I was asked to do some artwork in one of of the rehearsal rooms down at Rocking Horse. I started this months ago but luckily the lads there are super patient – although I have learnt that having a deadline definitely helps as I keep changing my mind!
